About Us

Vandarly Tutoring was founded in 2021 by Darren Yang and Vanessa Lu, two Grade 11 students studying at Lord Byng Secondary School in Vancouver, BC. We are both part of the Lord Byng Mini Arts Program, specializing in the violin. Vandarly was inspired and shaped by our own experiences. Upon realizing the difficulty school can pose for many, especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, we hoped to offer accessible tutoring services to struggling students. Vandarly operates virtually, as online tutoring would be more sought after by students as it allows them to learn from the comfort and safety of home. Vandarly is also driven by our passion for the “#stopasianhate” movement as we ourselves are members of the community. Our goal is to raise awareness and contribute to this cause through Vandarly, which inspired our decision to donate 25% of our earnings to support the movement. We are friendly, light-hearted students who love travelling, listening to music on loop, and drinking bubble tea!
